Dianna Agron + behind the scenes
Addie remained silent for a long while, processing what Chuck had said. At that point, she didn’t even care that he was restricting her from leaving. Everything she’d been told rushed around in her head at lightening speed. Zach was back, Chuck had gone to Hell, but he was back too… She didn’t even want to think about the rest of it. That was enough. Addie had dealt with a lot in her twenty one years, but she wasn’t sure if that was detrimental to the way she coped with things.
A large part of her wanted to cry, or to run, or to just pass out. React like a normal person would. But there was that small part, the one built like a warrior, ever since birth. And that kept her from reacting as anybody else would. She just gritted her teeth, remained silent, and nodded. “Thank you,” She murmured eventually. For telling her the truth, for checking up on Zach, for making sure he was alive, for making sure she was alive. For everything.
Chuck spent a long time with his fingers hooked in Addie’s jeans, his muscles tensing for when he was either going to have to duck a punch or run after her. Finally though he saw her eyes focus again and she was looking at him, but all he heard was a quiet thank you. It sounded full of so many things and he shook his head, “Addie, please don’t go. Not alone anyway. I haven’t seen you…proper you, in ages. I want…
needto make sure you’re okay. Please.” If she was going off to look for Zach he wanted to help, if she was going to try and take everything he’d just said in, he wanted to help. Mostly he just wanted to be there for her because he missed her, the hunter he’d met because of some freaking anonymous magic.
She listened intently, wincing just slightly as he had to clarify. She remained silent, and motionless for a moment longer, before stepping forward to wrap her arms around him again, almost half-heartedly. She was drained and, honestly, all she wanted to do was find Chuck’s couch again and stay there. And, while she knew she couldn’t, she allowed herself this moment. “I’m sorry,” She whispered, giving a tired sigh. She hadn’t decided, yet, if leaving would be safer for the prophet, but she was fairly sure it wasn’t even an option, since he wouldn’t let her. It felt like far, far too long since she had seen him, but at the same time, not long at all. It was odd, but the sense of relief that came with the familiar scent erased any odd feeling. It was just good to be back.
